Faces
From our “Favelas of Brazil” series. “Faces” illustration was inspired by French artist JR. JR’s trademark style is to paste huge photos of everyday people in public places. In one of his famous projects, he posted pictures of local residents across a favela in Brazil, giving the impression that the poor people living in this area were looking out at the rest of city. The social relevance of his work is what inspires me the most.
Cable Cars
From our “Favelas of Brazil”. Cable cars, also called gondola, floats over the Complexo Alemão. The gondola system was installed to help residents get to trains and buses without having to negotiate the steep hills and difficult roads.
